Crystal What is a borosilicate? How built?
Borosilicate glass is glass which formed part of which contains 70-80 % silicon dioxide ( SiO2 ) , 7-13 % boron trioxide ( B2O3 ) , 4-8 % Na2O and K2O, and 2-7 % aluminia oxide ( Al2O3 ) .

Properties of borosilicate glass
- Borosilicat-glass is characterized by a resistant to acidic attack
- With low thermal expansion coefficient (3,3 x 10-6 /K) by about 1/3 of traditional glass mercury ting sodalime. So the products made of borosilicate glass stable absolute temperature .
- This glass particularly suitable for laboratories and chemical use , where exposure to positive materials can be extended.
- The melting temperature of borosilicate
soda lime glass to another by using a higher rate of sand ( SiO2 ) .
